It examines strategies of identity construction which accompanied the establishment of the communities in the country. It considers the dynamics through which the communities overcame their internal differences to construct common and comprehensive identities as well as the transnational journey of Portuguese Hindus' identity and the adaptation processes of Hinduism to the Portuguese context.
