Saul André Leite
CV Summary

Saul Leite (prəˈnaʊns Saúl) holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering from the ISCTE — University Institute of Lisbon.

He is a consultant at the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD), which he represents on the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) Technology expert subgroup.

Since 2021, Saul has been part of the European Commission's experts evaluating Member States on the application of the Schengen acquis, in the field of data protection.

His main research interests focus on Privacy and Personal Data Protection, Consumer Protection, Large-Scale IT Systems, Digital Transition and Digital Services Regulation.

Currently, he is a guest lecturer at the Iscte School of Technology and Architecture - Department of Information Science and Technology -, teaching Data Protection in the curricular unit of Security, Ethics and Privacy (undergraduate degree in Data Science).

He is also co-supervising two Master's dissertation projects: one regarding the digital control of employees in their workplace and another one meant to achieve websites overview of the Portuguese public sector entities, concerning the non-essential cookies installation and consent gathering mechanisms.
