Currently enrolled in the Ph.D. in Sociology at ISCTE-IUL in Lisbon, Portugal. Veronica is actively involved in a research project funded by FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia), which revolves around dating apps. The project, titled “Pay to Win: Exploring the Process of Self-commodification among Dating App Users,” explores users’ perceptions of how dating apps function and impact their dating experiences and potentially condition their dating practices.

With a background in Anthropology and a master's degree in Sexology, Veronica conducted research during her MSc program that delved into the understanding and experiences of Portuguese gamers regarding sexism in gaming. Her exploration encompassed gamers’ encounters with sexism in video game content and interactions among gamers during gameplay.
