This analysis provides a detailed portrait of the first stage of participation in the H:ouse project, from March 2024 to March 2025. During that time, 160 participants took part in activities promoted by the project. The analysis highlights the balance of representatives of entities or organisations (53%) and individual participants (46%). Italy, Ireland and Greece show a strong institutional involvement, while Hungary and Slovenia reveal more mixed forms and grassroots participation. The predominant profile among participants is institutional (50%), although the weight of volunteering and citizenship is particularly relevant in Hungary. Participation is balanced when it comes to gender, with a slight majority of women (52.5%), except in Greece, where men predominate. The representation of people with a migrant background (51%) is noteworthy, with particular emphasis in Hungary, Italy and Greece, suggesting patterns that involve them as meaningful participants. The diversity of countries of origin of the participants with a migrant background is wide, with more than 30 countries represented, being 30% from Africa, 25% from Asia, 30% from Europe and 14% from America, although concentrated in some origins such as Nigeria, Ukraine, Brazil and Turkey. The educational level of the participants is mostly high (47% with advanced education),. Most of the organizations that participate in the H:ouse activities act at a local level (50%), reinforcing the idea of sponsorship networks with strong territorial roots. The associative and community sector dominates among the participating entities (55%), with a small presence of private actors. Cultural and migration NGOs, together with informal groups led by migrants, constitute the most common types of associations involved. Despite data gaps in some countries, there is a general trend towards continuity: 57% of participants had previously collaborated with the organising entity, although only 20% had experience in community sponsorship, revealing a field still developing. Lastly, pre-existing experience in housing integration is present in 38% of the entities represented by participants, being particularly high in Slovenia, Ireland and Italy.
