Alexandre Costa Nascimento holds a PhD in African Studies from ISCTE-IUL, a Master's degree in African Studies from ISCTE-IUL (2018), a postgraduate degree in Geopolitics and Foreign Affairs (2007), and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication/Journalism (2006) from the Tuiuti University of Paraná (UTP). His doctoral research was approved with distinction and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and his Master's dissertation was awarded the Academic Merit and Academic Excellence Prizes from ISCTE-IUL. He conducts interdisciplinary research in the areas of active mobility, technology, and society, with a special focus on technological adaptation processes, frugal innovation, and development in African contexts. His research analyzes the bicycle as an appropriate technology and as an analytical tool for understanding social, economic, cultural, and territorial dynamics.
