Graduated in Social Sciences from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Master in Political Science from the same institution. PhD in Sociology from Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos-Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ). Researcher in topics such as nationalism, ethnicism and socialism, in Latin America and Europe. Also a researcher on social movements and political parties, as well as the kinds of power structure that emerge from the relationship between both.
