Ana Tavares Landim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Systems and Computer Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Integrated Decision Support Systems at ISCTE-IUL and serves as a Research Initiation Fellow on the Cape Verde Language Crowdsourcing project, conducted within the ISTAR-Iscte research center.
In this role, she specializes in computational linguistics, focusing on the translation and validation of Cape Verdean Creole variants, as well as the collection of Creole language corpora. Additionally, she engages in experiments with artificial intelligence language models on the Hugging Face platform, applying natural language processing techniques to tasks such as linguistic segmentation and translation.
From 2020 to 2022, she was Head of Support Services at Jean Piaget University of Cape Verde, where she managed the helpdesk, maintained networks and laboratories, and provided training for users and interns. Ana also brings experience in technology-driven and creative projects, including the development of an animated cartoon in Cape Verdean Creole and the implementation of an Arduino-based door control system.
