Harvey Sánchez-Restrepo is a passionate advocate for evidence-based public policies with honed technical skills and vast experienced in international large-scale assessments. He is currently the CEO of the Latin American Agency for Educational Evaluation and Public Policies, High-level Technical Advisor at the Latin American Laboratory for the Evaluation of the Quality of Education (LLECE-UNESCO) and Founder and Former Executive Director of the National Institute for Educational Evaluation of Ecuador (Ineval).

 

During his path, he has managed high-level projects for the United Nations Development Programme, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, United Nations Development Program and several Ministries and Universities in many countries. He is also a founder member of the UNAM's Laboratory of Geotechnology (iSTAR), AERA's International Research Network on Feature Analysis Approach in International Assessments, and the Latin American Network of Educational Assessment and Research, as well as a member of the Salzburg Global Seminar and the Global Youth Leadership, which has granted him with the opportunity of collaborating in different international projects such as PIAAC, PISA for Development, Learning Divides, the Technical Cooperation Group for Sustainable Development Goals, and the Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP), as well as the Mexican medal for his ‘professional path’ and the Ecuadorian nationality for providing "relevant educational services to the nation".
