CV Summary

Catarina Sales Oliveira is is a senior lecturer at the University of Beira Interior and a researcher at CIES-Iscte. Her research interests focus on mobilities and their spatial and temporal dimensions, work, and gender, with particular emphasis on women’s studies. Her work examines the dynamics between mobilities, territories and communities, paying special attention to how work and gender inequalities structure experiences of movement, belonging and citizenship. She has conducted research at the intersection of these fields, exploring how mobilities—both physical and symbolic—shape ways of living, working and transforming places. She is currently involved in several research and intervention projects on migration, social memory and local development.
