Cleidi Pereira holds a degree in Social Communication and is a journalist with a decade of experience in Brazil’s leading newsrooms. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards for her reporting, with a particular focus on human rights issues. In 2020, she earned her Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations (specializing in Political Science) from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where she was honored with the 2019/20 Best Masters Award.

She is the author of the books "Entre a cruz e a espada: a (des)penalização do aborto na América Latina" (2021) and "Confissões de um torturador" (2025), both published by Editora Insular in Brazil. Her academic contributions also include an article in a scientific journal and two chapters in scholarly books.

Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Sociology at ISCTE, supported by a doctoral scholarship from the FCT. She is a member of the Laboratory of Social Studies on Birth (nascer.pt) at CIES-IUL. Previously, she served as a Research Fellow for the PASSDA project (Production and Archive of Social Science Data) in 2019 and was a recipient of the ProUni (Programa Universidade para Todos, Brasil) scholarship in Brazil between 2006 and 2010.
