Graduate in Biology by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (1996), postgraduate in Phylogenies and Genealogies of DNA by the University of Barcelona (2005) and PhD in Biology - Conservation Biology by the University of Lisbon (2006). Between 1995 and 2006, worked at the Center for Environmental Biology (currently cE3c) - FCUL and participated as a researcher in numerous projects related to the ecology of small vertebrates and conservation genetics of domestic animals. Between 2007 and 2009, was a postdoc researcher at ISCTE-IUL's Center for Research and Sociology Studies (CIES-IUL) in the area of ??promotion and administration of science and technology and has since been a member of this R&D center. Between 2009 and 2014 was an Assistant Researcher at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC-ULisboa) under the Science Program 2008 and was vice-president of the scientific council and coordinator of the institution's project office. Currently is a postdoc researcher at MUHNAC, at the Interuniversity Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT-FCUL), of which she is an integrated member, and at CIES-IUL (ISCTE-IUL). Developes research in the areas of citizen science, communication and management of science, history of science and history of animal domestication. Has coordinated and participated in several research projects and scientific dissemination activities with national and international funding. Is the author of several scientific publications in international journals, books and book chapters, and numerous oral and panel presentations at national and international congresses. Promotes the dissemination of science and scientific heritage and participated in the organization of various exhibitions and initiatives to promote scientific culture.
