Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering from ULHT and a Master in Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Science from ISCTE-IUL.
As a final thesis he developed the topic: "Monitoring and analysis of energy consumption in public spaces" with a final grade of 18 (eighteen), elaborated in the IoT Lab of ISCTE-IUL. This project consisted in the development of wireless sensors for monitoring electrical energy, of the system for registering and storing the data provided by the sensors and later analysis of energy consumption. The sensors were installed in electrical panels in the ISCTE-IUL campus in Lisbon, storing the information for future registration in several rooms and departments, with an online platform for visualization for the users to observe the energetic consumptions in real time. Different methods of visualization and perception of consumption were also developed, such as a BIM platform for easier understanding by people without technical knowledge, with the ultimate goal of improving the energy sustainability of ISCTE-IUL.
As professional experiences, even before finishing the degree, I entered the labour market as a Telecommunication Technician in Oni Telecom, S.A., my function covered the analysis of a national telecommunications network and the assistance in the maintenance and correction of anomalies and malfunctions, with the purpose of decreasing the time of communication failures. During this period, I also had the possibility to develop my knowledge in various types of communication technologies used in the contemporary market. After entering the Master I decided to further develop my skills in the fields of engineering and project management. I had the opportunity to do an internship in the company ENGIPROT Serviços de Engenharia, Lda, which develops solutions for protection and control of Medium, High and Very High Voltage electrical networks. My skills in the company consisted in the part of project development and technical development in laboratory and on site. During the internship, I was invited to join the GE Grid Solutions team, where I worked on major projects in the national grid of REN, as well as international projects in ENDE, in Angola. During this period I learned to work with various types of equipment with different purposes, new communication protocols, operation of electrical networks and dedicated telecommunication networks.
