Dr. Emerson Do Bú, currently a Junior Researcher at the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and an Associated Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, completed his PhD in Psychology with Summa Cum Laude distinction at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Lisbon. He completed his Postdoc at the University of Virginia's Department of Public Health Sciences. During his doctoral studies, he served as a Visiting Scholar at the Virginia Commonwealth University. His doctoral work has earned significant recognition, receiving both the 2024 Social Personality and Health Network Outstanding Dissertation Award and the 2024 Social Issues Dissertation Award from the Social Personality and Health Network and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (American Psychological Association - Division 9). He obtained a BA in Psychology at the Federal University of Campina Grande and a Masters degree in Social Psychology at the Federal University of Paraíba. He possesses extensive expertise in the field of textual data analysis, which encompasses the utilization of tools such as Nvivo, QDAMiner, Alcest, Tri-Deux-Mots, and Iramuteq for conducting thematic and discourse analysis, as well as lexicographic analysis. Furthermore, he has substantial experience employing a diverse array of data analysis strategies, including multilevel analysis. He has programming experience in JavaScript, as well as data analysis software such as R, Mplus, JASP, JAMOVI, and SPSS.
