Fernando Martins is a senior economist at the Research Department of Banco de Portugal since 1999, working currently at Structural Studies Division. He is also a Associate Professor of in ISCTE-Lisbon University Institute. He obtained a PhD in Economics and a MSc in Monetary and Financial Economics from the Institute for Economics and Business Administration (ISEG), University of Lisbon. He is member of the research center REM – Research in Economics and Mathematics of ISEG and has been participating in several international research networks. His main research interests focus on labour economics, productivity and price setting policies. His publications include articles in Journal of the European Economic Association, Labour Economics, International Journal of Central Banking and Economic Modeling. In 2016 he was awarded with the prize for the best PhD Dissertation in Portugal given by the Portuguese Association of Economists.
