Almeida has more than 10 years of professional experience, from urban planning coordination and strategic planning to Real Estate projects financial analysis. During these years, Almeida was always interested and developed research on several areas of urban studies, such as spatial analysis, urban dynamics, local governance, civic participation, citizenship, Heritage and tourism.
Currently, Almeida's research interests are focused on studying urban dynamics and spatial perception, supported by complex networks, cognitive science and urban simulation modelling. The concern to find a common ground of discussion between the two cultures in urban studies is always present in each interest area, in order to develop a truly transdisciplinary approach to the urban planning system.
