ISABEL SALAVISA is a retired Full Professor of Economics at ISCTE- Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in Lisbon. She was Vice-Rector for Research at ISCTE-IUL (2018-2022). She holds a PhD in Economics.
Her research is carried out at DINÂMIA'CET-IUL - Centro de Estudos sobre a Mudança Socioeconómica e o Território, of which she was director (2004-2013). She co-coordinated the 'Innovation and Labour' Research Group (until 2023).
Her research themes include economics of innovation, an area in which she obtained her doctorate; transitions towards environmental sustainability; and social policies and the Welfare State in Europe.
She has coordinated and participated in many research projects, published books and articles in international journals and participated in a large number of conferences, especially international ones. She has supervised doctoral theses and master dissertations and taught in fields such as the economics of innovation, EU economics and policies, and sustainability policies. She is a member of associations and networks and a referee for international journals and conferences.
