João Oliveira holds a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field.

He is a member of the MoniCrowd project at ISCTE, where he works on crowd monitoring systems based on device detection, IoT technologies, and edge computing, with a focus on near real-time data collection, processing, and visualization. His research interests include distributed systems, data analysis, and the application of communication technologies in monitoring and security contexts.
