CV Summary

João Vasco Lopes holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST-UL) and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Iscte-IUL. He worked in the field of space operations engineering at the European Space Agency (ESA) between 2011 and 2015. He has been a researcher at the Collaborative Laboratory for Labour, Employment and Social Protection (CoLABOR) since 2019, having served as Executive Director between 2022 and 2025. He collaborated with the Office for Strategy and Studies (GEE) of the Ministry of Economy in 2017 and was an Advisor at the Secretary of State for Infrastructure in the XXIII Constitutional Government of Portugal. He has been a Guest Lecturer at the School of Applied Digital Technologies (Iscte-Sintra) since 2022, a Research Assistant at DINÂMIA’CET (Centre for the Study of Socioeconomic Change and Territory), and a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the School of Sociology and Public Policy of Iscte-IUL. His research interests focus on the study of processes of economic and technological change, labour and employment dynamics, and public policy evaluation.
