Luis F. Mota is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Public Policies at ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon and a researcher at its Centre for Research and Studies of Sociology (CIES-ISCTE), as well as at the Centre in Political Science, University of Minho (CICP-UMinho) and the Portucalense Legal Institute - hub of Leiria (IJP-Leiria).
He holds a Post-doctorate in Public Policies and Political Science from the University of Aveiro (2019) and a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Lisbon (2016).
His research interests include policy-making processes, collaborative governance, gender and queer issues, public sector reform and local governance.
He has also been a trainer in several courses targeting new public servants (CAT-Inicial, since 2021) and top public managers (CAGEP, 2019-2021), organised by the Portuguese National Institute of Administration (INA). He also has experience working in the public sector, namely at the National Institute of Administration as a middle-level manager and at the National Agency of Science (FCT) as a science management officer.
He is also the coordinator of the Section on Public Administration and Public Policies from the Portuguese Association of Political Science.
