Pedro Ferreirinha is an architect and Director of Innovation and Technology at HCI Construções, S.A., where he leads the implementation of Artificial Intelligence across the group's internal processes and coordinates multidisciplinary teams responsible for the standardisation and dissemination of BIM/VDC processes on large-scale construction projects.
He founded HCI's VDC Department in 2019, having previously developed the BIM Department at Teixeira Duarte, S.A., where he worked for 18 years on highly complex national and international projects, including BIM coordination of projects exceeding 300,000 m² of gross floor area.
Throughout his career he has led information management and virtual design and construction on landmark projects such as the refurbishment of the Modern Art Centre of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the new CGD Headquarters and the EXEO Office Campus, focusing on the integration of BIM methodologies with cloud-based collaborative platforms and Business Intelligence tools.
He is an Invited Assistant Professor at ISCTE, in the bachelor's degree programme in Digital Technologies, Buildings and Sustainable Construction, and lectures at several higher education institutions in Portugal. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee of ptBIM – Portuguese Congress on Building Information Modelling since 2022, is the author of scientific papers in the field, and was awarded the BIM Excellence Award in 2017 and 2021. He holds a Master's degree in Architecture from Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, with a thesis dedicated to the integrated management of the building life cycle through BIM.
