Rosane Lopes de Araujo is an Architect who graduated from FAU-UFRJ in Brazil (1987). She has worked professionally in the municipal public sector in the areas of urban planning and housing, developing studies, analyses, plans and projects related to social housing. 

Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from IPPUR-UFRJ (2005), she is co-author of two chapters in the book Social Housing in Brazilian Metropolises, which address housing policy in Rio de Janeiro. Throughout her academic career, she has deepened her interest in social housing policies through studies, participation in debate forums and discussions on the subject.

In her PhD in Urban Studies, she has dedicated herself to the analysis of housing policies in Portugal, with a special focus on social rental policies. She has two co-authored papers aligned with this theme: a study on the rental model in access to social housing in Portugal and Brazil, presented at the 5th CIHEL (Lisbon); and another on supported rental and the Porta 65-Jovem program in Portugal, presented at the International Seminar on Social Rental Housing Policies (São Paulo, Brazil). 

The experience in housing issues, acquired both through scientific research and professional practice, has contributed to a multidisciplinary and integrated perspective on the subject of the ongoing research.
