Graduated in Social Work by the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto, Master in Sociology by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and PhD in Social Work by ISCTE-IUL, she is currently a professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro as part of the degree and master's degree in Social Work since 2017. With different institutional experiences in teaching in Social Work and Gerontology, she practices an activist pedagogy in the scope of gender inequality and violence against women, in the anti-racist struggle under the perspective of a Critical, Radical and Structural Social Work. Develops professional work as a social worker in the administration of the European Association of Schools of Social Work. She has dozens of papers published in conference proceedings, a book chapter and an entry in an international encyclopedia. She has carried out different academic activities at the national and international levels in Social Work. She guides a dozen master's theses in her academic field and collaborates whenever she can with local institutions to speak publicly about Social Work and the struggles she advocates. Due to his youth, she is currently consolidating her research, namely publications in indexed journals based on her most recent work published in the format of a doctoral thesis. Her research interests rest on social intervention through art and culture among oppressed communities; feminism; sexuality and gender; interculturality, racism and antiziganism; social intervention with migrants, refugees and homeless people; radical social work; She keeps an open mind to embrace unknown paths and new challenges.
