Tomás Mestre Santos graduated from the Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in 2021 with a degree in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering. He obtained his M.Sc. in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering, also in Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, in October 2023, with a research scholarship and merit recognized by the President of the Order of Engineers.
He is currently a full-time PhD student in Information Sciences and Technologies, also at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, with an associated merit scholarship giving continuity to his research work from his master's thesis.
Regarding his research, integrated in the Centro de Investigação em Ciências da Informação, Tecnologias e Arquitetura and Instituto de Telecomunicações, his main areas of research are crowd monitoring, smart tourism, and sensors, areas he addressed in his master’s thesis, and has participated in a European research project in the scope of smart tourism and digital transformation.
He has also carried out teaching activities, having taught a curricular unit at Iscte as a guest assistant professor.
