Abstract/Resumo
Research on corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been increasing. Yet, few studies have focused on the individual level of analysis, specifically in outcomes related to employees’ job attitudes and behaviours. Against this backdrop, this study has focused on employees’ perception of CSR practices and its relation with job satisfaction. The study of perceived organizational support (POS) as possible mediating variable was the main challenge of this research, since to the best of our knowledge no studies have observed this variable in the context of CSR-job satisfaction relationship. A sample of 175 workers of different organizations and industries was surveyed. Results from regression analyses showed an increment in the ability to explain the relationship between the perceived CSR and job satisfaction when POS in added to the model of analysis. However, this variable only mediates the relationship between CSR towards employees and job satisfaction. CSR towards community/environment has no statistical significance in the study and the economic CSR dimension despite being significant, is not influenced by POS.
