CRAC
A child rights approach to combat bullying in detention and residential care settings
Description

The CRAC - A child rights approach to combating bullying in detention and residential care settings for youth is a European project funded through the European Commission's Daphne Program, and aims to reduce the incidence and impact of peer violence in the context of Education Centres (CE). In Portugal, the project was developed by the partnership Par-Answers Social together with the CIS-IUL, with the support of the Directorate General of Reinsertion and Prison Services (DGRSP). At the European level, the partnership involved the University of Bologna in conjunction with Save the Children (Italy), with the support of the Italian Youth Justice Department and Bologna University (Coordinators), as well as counterparts from Bulgaria. Questionnaires were applied to youths and team members to evaluate the experiences and perceptions of bullying in this type of contexts in Portugal, Bulgaria and Italy, as well as coping strategies used by youth and institutional climate.
