TY - CPAPER TI - Analysing Multidimensional Cooperation Between the Nowruz Cultural Sphere and the Ibero-American World: The Case of Iran-Venezuela Cooperation T2 - First Academic Dialogue among Scholars of the Nowruz Cultural Sphere and the Ibero-American World AU - Santos, T. PY - 2024 CY - Teerão UR - https://iberoamericanowruz.atu.ac.ir/ AB - In the context of a rapidly evolving world order characterised by the rise of non-Western powers and an increasingly interconnected global landscape, non-traditional alliances and partnerships are emerging as important drivers of economic development, cultural exchange and political influence. The Nowruz Cultural Sphere and the Ibero-American World comprise the majority of countries currently growing within the international system. In this study, we focus on analysing the multidimensional cooperation between Iran and Venezuela as two prominent members of the Nowruz Cultural Sphere and the Ibero-American World, respectively. Relations between the two countries have grown exponentially over the past decade, representing the growing interdependence between these two separate world regions. Based on a comprehensive analysis of bilateral agreements, joint projects and academic literature, the study identifies key areas of cooperation, including energy, trade, technology and cultural exchange. It examines the factors that have contributed to the strengthening of this partnership, such as the shared experience of Western sanctions, a common anti-imperialist ideology and mutual economic interests. This analysis will be conducted through a study of the historical, cultural, political and economic dimensions of this relationship, with the aim of contributing to a broader understanding of the evolving dynamics of global cooperation between the two larger spheres of the Nowruz and Ibero-American regions.
