AB  - In this study, we explore the possibility of employing passive millimetre-wave imaging (PMMWI) as a means for remotely detecting plastic marine litter. We conducted measurements in both controlled pool and natural lake environments under static and agitated water conditions using a W-band radiometer. We assessed the radiometric response to different-sized plastic objects and concentrations. By comparing the measurements with and without plastics allowed us to discern differences and visually detect the presence of objects in the water. Preliminary results indicate the promising potential of radiometric imaging for remote detection of floating plastics.
