AB - Panel discussion, Stellenbosch, South Africa, 18-20 November 2024

The panel starts from the premise that training individual scientists to communicate clearly and tell interesting stories is often merely a recipe for mediocre communication. The panel participants will share their experiences with trying to understand the current infrastructure that is available to scientists in different countries and organizational contexts, scientists’ experiences working within these infrastructures, and their ideas for viable paths forward. The panel will specifically seek to identify the distinctive challenges that the discovery science community faces when thinking about communication infrastructure and invite audience members to share their experiences and perspectives.
