AB - Electric vehicles (EV) and renewable energies are of increasing importance in the quest for sustainable mobility and energy. However, understanding how EV users interact with these technologies and perceive their benefits in everyday life is a very important aspect that is still very little explored in the literature, namely regarding Portugal. In this paper the behavior and perceptions of EV users regarding the use of renewable energy were inquired using online surveys. These were released through a national association of EV users and two Charging Point Operators / Electric Mobility Energy Suppliers. The methodology and some of the results obtained are described. The analysis of the results shows important and sometimes surprising conclusions. The results obtained can be used to guide public policies and commercial strategies of companies involved in the sector.
