AB - Using a participatory action research approach, this study examines support for public participation in health policy decision-making in Portugal. Strong support was observed, with key predictors including empowerment orientation, participation-related stereotypes, advocacy beliefs, membership in patient organisations, and prior participatory experience. Findings underscore the need to promote participatory spaces, adopt collaborative and inclusive approaches, raise awareness of public participation and the role of representative organisations, and foster citizen engagement.
