AB - 1.	Purpose
Studies suggest that healthcare systems should be viewed as complex adaptive systems. Furthermore, the process of innovation is both complex and multi-dimensional regardless of the industry in which it is being applied. For the adoption of innovations in healthcare, it is important to understand determinants that may influence the innovation process, so that it can be successful. The objective of this study is to compile and analyse determinants from the available literature on healthcare innovation.
2.	Methods
A comparison of several healthcare innovation studies will be made, and an analysis of the various determinants found will be undertaken.
3.	Findings
From the available literature, 10 studies were analyzed, having been identified 20 determinants that influenced the innovation process.
4.	Implications and value
One of the conclusions is that in some of the studies analyzed the determinants are not related to the adoption degree, and, when they were, the assessment was made in different ways, making it difficult to compare.
Secondly, it was found that more determinants were regarded as facilitators than as obstacles in the innovation adoption process.
A more systematic and homogeneous approach in the development of the studies would be beneficial for the future comparison of the results.
