TY - CPAPER TI - Panel Data Models Use: Ageing Individuals from Dental and Skeletal Maturation T2 - Seminário AU - Andrade, M. A. P. PY - 2014 CY - Guimarães AB - In this work it is intended to discuss the use of panel data models to approach the age estimation methods in living individuals. Particularly, to extend to the combination of dental and skeletal maturation indicators in a longitudinal sample of French-Canadian children between ages of 7 and 15 years old, for legal purposes. The use of panel data models has been done with a large increase in areas as economic, finance and econometric applications over the last years. Here the focus of the observations refer to observations of human stadiums on the dental and skeletal development. The choice of a fixed effects model or random effects model is, certainly, based on the specificity of each models assumption but also by the problem in analysis. It is of interest to approach the discussion of whether to choose fixed or random effects models. It is also important to assess which of the possible models is more appropriate and which variables perform best in these models. ER -
