AB  - Previous research on gender groups relations has provided a theoretical articulation of social representations and social identities, by showing how different self and intergroup representations are associated with different patterns of differentiation. This paper describes research which aimed at articulating the ideological and contextual levels of analysis in gender groups relations. In the experiment reported here, results show, as predicted in our hypothesis, that dominated groups (female participantst) differentiation against ingroup and and outgroup members is more affected by contextual asymmetries than dominant groups (male participants) pattern of differentiation.
