AB - The main objective of this workshop was to establish a working dialogue about the adequate use of techniques, formalisms and tools, as well as their combination in order to increase the architectural quality of object-oriented software systems. The workshop focussed on three major topics leading to split attendees in three groups. After a short report of the outcomes, the remaining of the chapter is devoted to the thirteen selected position papers. An extended version of this workshop report can be found on: http://?www.?emn.?fr/?borne/?ECOOP98-W02.?html.
