AB - When compared to the realm of textual syntax, developing graphical syntax for a domain-specific modeling language (DSML) is still challenging. Xdiagram is a research prototype that consists of a textual domain-specific language (DSL) for specifying diagrammatic representations against abstract syntax defined in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). Specifications are written in Xdiagram against such models in a declarative fashion in order to obtain a diagram editor. We explain the main primitives of our DSL using conceptual modeling as an example domain for illustration.
