A technical solution employing virtual carrier-assisted direct-detection (DD) is proposed to achieve such features. The main system parameters are identified, and the performance of a 42.8 Gb/s SSB DD MB-OFDM (with four bands) metro network is optimized through numerical simulation. ER -
