AB  - The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of the Internet by children and adolescents within the context of the Brazilian legal framework, considering they are familiar with technology, having broad access and finding it easy to use. There are high concerns on their protection on the Internet, thus, it is necessary to discuss a digital culture in order to provide proper use of technology, which includes parental guidance on the use of the Internet by their kids, given their high vulnerability. Parents themselves might expose their children to unwanted situations, as in the case of Nissim Ourfali, in which his father released a video of him, which turned out to result in a legal problem for the family. The results of the analysis indicated the need to create a solid digital education regarding the Internet use.
