The chapter focuses on a case study of the academic identity of the Écoles normales supérieures and how these institutions are affected by internationalization processes. Schippling, Zimmermann, and Schmidt pay special attention to the analysis of the social construction of this identity based on interviews with professors and lecturers at these elite colleges. ER -
