AB - The main goal of this communication is related with the need of implementing an adaptation and validation process of a neuropsychological assessment battery for multiple sclerosis patients – the Brief Repeatable Battery of Neuropsychological Tests (BRBN-T) (Rao, 1991). First, we reviewed several validation processes’ of this battery in other countries and we have also reviewed other validation processes’ of neuropsychological tests used with multiple sclerosis patients. Therefore, this resulted in a set of distinct practices, in the national and international contexts, which motivated an advanced search within validation and adaptation procedures and strategies. Thus, in this communication we present a critical analysis of the methods for of the validation process and we systematize contents, suggesting possible approaches to future work. This theoretical systematization is complemented with some practical examples, regarding the strategies adopted in the BRBN-T validation process.
