AB  - Vive-se hoje uma crise sistémica sem precedentes. A bolha financeira de 2008 teve reflexos na economia real, acumulando-se com outras crises, alimentar, energética e climática. Em muitos dos países europeus a crise económica foi usada para concentrar a riqueza e o poder em poucas mãos, explorando ao máximo a força de trabalho, limitando práticas democráticas, aumentando o ódio e a divisão entre diferentes sectores da população. A resposta dominante não constitui, de todo, uma solução, pois não garante a sobrevivência do nosso planeta, antes o prejudica, nem promove a melhoria da vida das pessoas. Pelo contrário, degrada as suas condições de vida. Por que a crise é genderizada na sua origem e nos seus impactos, entendemos que a inclusão da perspectiva de género na análise económica beneficiará não só as mulheres e outros grupos sociais subalternizados, como também toda a sociedade no seu conjunto. Constitui, assim, uma prioridade estratégica necessária para bloquear retrocessos civilizacionais e derivas conservadoras, e um elemento de reforço da massa crítica necessária à análise dos problemas e à construção de alternativas.

We are living today a systemic crisis as we have never lived before. The 2008 financial bubble had consequences on the real economy, adding to the food, energy and climate crisis. In many of the European countries the economic crisis was used to concentrate wealth and power in very few hands, with the maximum exploitation of the labour force, limitation of democracy, increase of hatred and division between different sectors of population. The dominating answer is not a solution at all, since it doesn’t guarantee the survival of our planet but rather damages it, nor does it promote a better life for people. On the contrary, it brings degradation of their living conditions. Because the crisis is gendered in its origin and impacts, we consider that it should include a gender perspective in the economic analysis which will benefit women and other discriminated social groups and the society as a whole. It is, therefore, a strategic priority in order to get in the way of civilizational backward and conservative movements and is an element that strengthens the critical mass to analyse the problems and make up the alternatives.
