AB  - Discrimination has been found to have a detrimental effect on individuals’ mental and physical health. Furthermore, experiences of discrimination have been found to be a common acculturative stressor among migrants. Even though many studies have been conducted to understand how these experiences are related to migrants’ psychological acculturation, a comprehensive review of the findings is still missing. In particular, it is still unclear how blatant vs. subtle forms of discrimination may affect immigrants in their psychological acculturation process. Following the guidelines proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (2015, 2020), the present scoping review aims to map and systematize the literature regarding discrimination towards migrants in a psychological acculturation context. The review focuses on the experiences of first-generation, adult immigrants, defined as individuals who voluntarily migrated and permanently settled in their host country. A comprehensive search is executed in three different databases (EBSCO, Scopus and Web of Science). A systematic coding scheme is applied to the included papers which allows for content and thematic analyses. The results are presented according to the PRISMA-ScR checklist. The presentation of the results will focus on the preliminary findings related to immigrants’ wellbeing and the differential contribution of subtle and/or blatant discrimination. Identified research gaps in this area will also be highlighted. The scoping review protocol is available on OSF [https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/AGY9P].
