AB - The capacity of public organizations to adapt and respond to the difficulties of a complex environment is significantly influenced by innovation. The social dimension of work, specifically the involvement, participation, and dedication of public servants, is equally vital to the technological and organizational dimensions of work because these are, without a doubt, the aspects that most directly contribute to adding value. In this way, the idea of innovation rests on a vision that unifies the human aspect with the various dimensions that innovation can take. Technical and soft skills are combined through innovation skills, which helps to build a more dynamic governance and organizational setting. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive review of governance practices in public organisations and to identify the necessary innovative skills to help public workers become more agile. To this end, a literature review was conducted, and a Delphi study to explore the main innovation skills for the future of public organisations.
