Abstract/Resumo
In this presentation I am going to argue for and present the key tenets of a critical environmental psychology approach to people-environment studies, with a focus on environmental citizenship, public participation, social justice, and wellbeing in relation to current renewable energy transitions. For that, I will use the Theory of Social Representations as an articulatory epistemology that helps us to go beyond understanding people's resistance to renewable energy infrastructures and other environmentally relevant technologies and practices as just NIMBY (Not In My Backyard).
