Abstract
This paper explores the notion of ‘transformative technology’ by focusing on the intersection between coffee, logistics and societal change. We propose to understand coffee as a socio-technical assemblage which is inextricable from – indeed constituted by – the technologies of its production, the logistics of its distribution, and the aesthetics of its everyday consumption.
