Abstract
Modelling the behavior of electricity load time series has many applications in
power systems. The goal of the present work is to obtain clusters of electricity
consumption time series, data referring to the Portuguese Transmission System
Operator (TSO). A semi-hierarchical clustering procedure is adopted which
reveals some consumption patterns that could be anticipated, but also new
(more detailed) patterns, invisible to the experts’ eyes.
