Abstract
This research applied the critical discourse analysis method at the publications of Jair Bolsonaro´s Twitter during the 2018 brasilian presidencial election. The objective is to understand how the conflict is used as a strategic feature at Bolsonaro´s discursive performance and how it is connected with a far-right wing populist program, considering its relationship with the public sphere and with the hegemony dispute of brazilian civil Society. This analytical framework articulates the assumptions developed by Michel Pêcheux, Mikhail Bakhtin e Eliseo Verón for discourse analysis, considering the ideological, social and historical aspects, besides the linguistic characteristics, as determining aspects in the interpretation of the analyzed discourse. Other basic concepts in this paper are those of Jügen Habermas´s public sphere and Antonio Gramsci´s hegemony dispute. This paper is part of the reseach have been doing in the doctor program Commnunication Sciences of the Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (CIES-IUL), that have starting point the results obtained in the our master dissertation “Jair Bolsonaro and the search for permanent conflict: Critical Discourse Analysis in the Jair Bolsonaro´s Twiiter in the 2018 brasilian presidencial election”.
