Abstract
he dynamic convergence of cultural planning and collaborative processes in utilizing heritage for temporary cultural events, is pivotal in an era where cities are evolving as cultural landscapes. The adaptive reuse of heritage sites can become a crucial tool for nurturing cultural vitality and engaging communities. This study explores the strategic incorporation of heritage spaces into temporary cultural events, highlighting the collaborative frameworks that drive their successful transformation. Through a multidisciplinary approach, this research delves into the participatory methodologies and stakeholder engagement models inherent in cultural planning. By analyzing case studies across diverse urban contexts in Europe, it unveils the intricate process of repurposing heritage spaces for inclusive temporary cultural events. This investigation navigates the delicate equilibrium between preservation, innovation, and community involvement, elucidating how collaborative approaches can be effective in the temporary adaptive reuse of heritage sites while strengthening bonds with the community. The primary objective of this study is to provide insights, strategies, and practical frameworks for planners, policymakers, cultural practitioners, and community stakeholders. It advocates for a symbiotic relationship between heritage preservation, cultural activation, and collaborative processes, aiming to foster dynamic and flourishing cities where heritage acts as a catalyst for diverse and inclusive cultural expressions. Additionally, the study underscores the socio-cultural impacts and economic benefits derived from effectively intertwining heritage with temporary cultural events, by accentuating the role of cultural planning in nurturing sustainable urban development, fostering social cohesion, and augmenting the overall quality of life within cities.
