Abstract
This paper addresses the comparative evaluation of the semantic and syntactical quality of the relational model and the Resource Description Framework (RDF). The definition of criteria and metrics for measuring the quality of modeling languages is based on a framework for evaluating data models. The criteria and metrics are applied to the following modeling constructs of the relational model and RDF: classification, association, generalization and constraints. The quantification of the evaluation is made according to the PHIMA method.
