Abstract/Resumo
his chapter presents a literature review on the intersection of human capital research trends and their impact on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By examining ten major research tendencies including remote work, diversity, equity and inclusion, mental health, talent acquisition, continuous learning, team dynamics and interpersonal relationships, generational shifts, crisis management, and digital transformation within Human Resource Management (HRM), we identify the current focal points in managing human capital. These trends reflect the contemporary concerns and strategies of HRM and play a crucial role in achieving the SDGs of the UN 2030 Agenda. This exploration delineates how each identified human capital trend contributes to or challenges the accomplishment of specific SDGs, emphasizing the need for HRM to align its strategies with these global goals. The findings underscore the importance of integrating SDG considerations into the core of HRM decision-making processes. Our work enriches both academic literature and management practices by highlighting the pivotal role of human capital management in advancing toward the SDGs and advocating for a strategic alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda. This chapter maps the relationship between HRM trends and SDGs and promotes awareness and action towards incorporating sustainability goals in human capital strategies.
