Abstract
Humans have advanced skills that enable them to sense and interact with their physical surroundings however, the majority of our interaction with digital information does not take advantage of our haptic channel and mental state and is still mainly confined to one device. This might be explained because the development of interactive systems that effectively support users' tasks execution taking into consideration additional human senses or mental state is more challenging. In this talk, I will present several efforts towards improved user interaction by highlighting some of the works I am involved in including the use of haptics and physiological data for improved robot teleoperation and a framework for rapid prototyping of ubiquitous computing environments.
